How many GATE ECE previous year papers are available?
We're adding GATE Electronics and Communication Engineering previous year papers now. The full syllabus below is ready to browse in the meantime.
Do I need an account to see the GATE ECE questions and answers?
Yes. Reading a question, its answer key or its explanation needs a free account. Without one you can see the official syllabus and how many questions each subject has.
How is the GATE ECE paper structured and marked?
The paper has 65 questions for 100 marks in 3 hours: General Aptitude for 15 marks and the core subject for 85. A wrong multiple-choice answer costs one third of the question's marks (1/3 for a 1-mark question, 2/3 for a 2-mark question). Multiple-select and numerical-answer questions have no negative marking.
Can I take a GATE ECE paper as a timed test?
Yes. Create a free account to take any paper as a full-length test in the same exam interface you will see on the day, with the question palette, timer and negative marking, then get an instant section-wise score. You can also practise one subject at a time with no timer.
